Subject: A petition to dismiss Simon Hou as councillor of Central Ward

Dear Lord Mayor Verschoor:

As you may know that there has been a horrible assault on a young woman worker at a Gouger business on 29.01.2021 while the victim tried to get back the unpaid (and also underpaid) wages.

Simon Hou, as a close friend of the attacker and the relevant business owner, had made a number of inappropriate statements/ speeches in the Chinese social media. In those statements/ speeches, Simon Hou showed little sympathy on the victim, made no condemnation on the unacceptable violence and salary theft, and attempted to mediate for a private settlement outside the formal legal process.

Simon Hou's inappropriate behaviour has spark a widespread fury among the Chinese Australian community in Adelaide. We hereby make a petition to the Adelaide City Council to dismiss Simon Hou as councillor of Central Ward.
