      怪不得本来这两天肯定能到的快递,迟迟没有消息,连上网查跟踪信息也没有。新闻说“Christmas mail chaos”,祈祷别把我邮包弄丢了!!!!

The union representing Australia's posties has rejected claims it has broken a promise not to cause disruptions to mail deliveries in the lead-up to Christmas. In an escalation of an ongoing dispute with Australia Post that dates back to 2006, the Communications, Electrical and Plumbing Union (CEPU) has confirmed postal workers will undergo stoppages across all states, except South Australia, from Wednesday.
South Australian workers will join the work stoppages from Thursday to avoid school students missing out on their HSC results arriving in the post.
The bulk of the strikes will take place during the next 48 hours, although other action may take place on Friday, the union told AAP on Tuesday.
The ongoing dispute with the postal company has been based on the union seeking a return to workers' conditions seen prior to the former Howard government's Work Choices laws.
"The goalposts shifted dramatically last week when Australia Post started issuing partial work ban notices that would have seen an entire day's pay go for action that might last for part of a day," CEPU national secretary Ed Husic told AAP.
"Our members are confronted with a choice - go to work, observe a ban for 15 minutes and lose a whole day's pay or just stop work, and they're opting to stop work."
Members had strongly rejected the "heavy-handed" approach Australia Post was using, he said.
"And they weren't going to be bullied like that."
Asked about whether or not the union had broken its promise not to hold strikes over the busy Christmas period, Mr Husic said "no".
The union stood by its claim that any industrial action aimed to have as minimal impact as possible but would send a strong message to Australia Post, he said.
"We feel like we've got very little option but to go down the path that we propose."
Australia Post has condemned the strike action.
"All last week we had the union tell the public that any industrial action would have no impact on Christmas mail. Now they have broken that promise," Australia Post spokesman Alex Twomey said in a statement.
Australia Post says despite the disruptions, the company will work around the clock to get Christmas cards and parcels through its system.
"Two-thirds of our staff don't support this industrial action and will still be working," Mr Twomey said.
Australia Post says workers already have an offer that includes a four per cent pay increase, 14 weeks' paid maternity leave, and an agreement of no forced redundancies that locks in existing entitlements.
