刚刚收到学校的邮件，发生了一件很不幸的事，在此提醒大家注意安全

Dear Students

亲爱的同学们

Late yesterday, a former student of the University tragically drowned in the River Torrens, near the University Footbridge.

昨晚，曾经在本校就读的一名学生在学校后的PR桥附近，悲催的掉到河里淹死了。

My deepest sympathy goes to his family, friends and all those who knew him.

我谨向这名遇难同学的家人、朋友以及所有和他相识的人表达最深切的同情。

Being a busy time of year, a number of our students were in the vicinity of the River Torrens and have been offered support and counselling.

由于这阵子是一年中最忙的时候，事发当时我们有一大堆学生在特里斯河附近接受校方的指导和建议。

It is now a matter for SA Police and Coroner to investigate and therefore we will not be providing any public comment on the particular circumstances surrounding the event.

现在这事儿归警察和验尸官调查了，所以我们不会对这事儿的周边细节乱喷。

We are very aware that it has occurred during Orientation Week when so many of you are just becoming acquainted with University life.

我们特别注意到这事儿发生在迎新周，很多新人正在熟悉大学生活中。

Please be alert to the possible impact on your fellow students who may be affected by the incident and know that support is readily available.

It serves as a reminder that the River Torrens is deceptively dangerous and should be treated with caution.
