请教考驾照的问题

我不会开车，也没有买车，现在想考驾照然后买车，听人家说先要考L牌，过了再考P牌什么的然后才可以上路开车，我具体不是很清楚，考这些牌都在哪里考呀， 具体流程是什么？到最后能上路开车要多久时间呀？

拿了L牌照就得等半年吧，才可考P，然后允许单独上路。

Option 1 - start from Learner permit
1) Study the theory test materials from Driver handbook 2009 http://www.sa.gov.au/subject/Tra ... ustralia/The+Driver
2) Do the MOCK test from raa.net http://www.raa.com.au/page.asp?TerID=192
3) Go to Service SA centre to do the theory test. http://www.service.sa.gov.au/sub ... 20Service%20Centres The test is only available before 4:30pm (I think)
4) You passed the test and got the Learner Permit. Learner Permit allow you to drive in Australia in 3 conditions
      4a) put the standard L plates in the car
      4b) with a 2 year experience Full licence driver
      4c) never speeding over 10 km/h
5) Then, you book in a time with Driver Instructor and choose CBT (30task) or VORT (test)
6) To complete the Learner plate to P plate, you need to:
     6a) holding learner plate for 6 months
     6b) complete CBT or VORT
     6c) save 50 hours time log from your friends (2 years full licence) or instructor (too expensive)

P.S You can learn how to drive within the first 6 months, government just want to "hold" the teenager age on the road.

Options 2 - You got oversea licence (somehow)....
If you holding temp. visa like working visa, student visa, you can drive in SA under these conditions:
with a correct Enlgish translate copy of your licence
your licence is legal and valid (no expire)
you need to hold your passport (the one got your visa) when you drive.

In this case, you can do oversea licence transfer (section 80). You may need to:
1) Book a lesson from instructor to see your driving skill ready for VORT (test) or not
2) IF, you skill is ok, then book in the theory test (see above)
3) After you pass the test, then you got 30 days time to drive in SA legally, and you need to pass the VORT to continue to drive legally in SA.
4) If you passed the VORT, then you may get a validation test form government again (often) for free in oakland park. If you fail the VORT, you can redo the test every 3 days (not for learner permit) until you pass the test. If you never pass the VORT within 30 days, then you cannot drive by yourself legally in SA until you pass the test.
