飙升的利率和黑色星期五大促未能抑制昆州人的节日零售支出，昆州人将在Boxing Day大促中支出近50亿澳元，这是全澳235亿澳元消费狂潮的一部分。
昆州的购物中心挤满了讨价还价的人，主要品牌的优惠幅度高达70%。
在午餐时间，Boxing Day购物者在布里斯班DFO附近的东西干道上遭遇了长达20分钟的交通延误。
包括Chermside、Carindale和Upper Mt Gravatt在内的许多Westfield购物中心周围的交通似乎都很通畅。
在布里斯班、黄金海岸和阳光海岸之间行驶的司机在午餐时间经历了长达50分钟的延误，主要购物中心周围的拥堵是一个影响因素。
